The Porcelain is a large, elegant pack hound with a very white coat lightly ticked with orange, a long head, and long dropped ears. The skin is fine, and the outline is that of a light French running hound.

A finely built French pack hound with a short coat and a high, carrying hunt cry; field days, not thin walls.

The Porcelain, or Chien de Franche-Comte, is a French pack hound from the Franche-Comte, used on hare and deer. The white coat is said to look like porcelain. The UKC classes it as a Scenthound.

Temperament

These hounds are typically gentle at home and determined on a scent. They have a carrying voice and need more running than a short walk.

Wipe the short coat and clean the long ears after work.

The breed is generally hardy. Ear infections are the issue most often seen after field work. White skin can sunburn.
